Souled Out
R&B * Soul * Pop * Dance

Elvis Fernandes has been playing professionally for the last 20+ years.  His percussion and drumming skills can be heard on jingles such as Canada’s Wonderland, Capital One, Mazda “Zoom-Zoom”, McDonald’s, Tim Horton’s, Rogers; as well as Sass Jordan, Amanda Marshall and Trick Pony recordings.  Always on the run, passport in one hand and stick bag in the other, he frequently tours with Ms. Jordan, as well as former Canadian Idols Melissa O’Neil and Eva Avila, often subbing in on the set for other world acts like Roch Voisine, Collin James and Soul Revival. A highly respected musician and session player on the Canadian Music scene, Elvis has also shared the stage with Glyn Stephens (singer/bass player with Roger Whitaker and Chris Smith) and Sil Simone (guitar player for Rick Emmit and theatrical production “We Will Rock You” and more) leading the trio North Pole.  Elvis now is super-busy leading the band Souled Out, one of Toronto’s and Greater Area premiere bands –and they can be heard in local clubs, weddings, corporate events …they’ve got covered just about everything!

As the Drum Instructor at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic district and Wandering Minstrel Music Schools, he brings his talent and communication skills to young aspiring musicians. Being influenced by Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Omar Hakim, David Garibaldi, Rick Marotta, Bernard Purdie and Vinne Colaiuta, Elvis has set the mark of his professionalism, bringing infectious rhythms with rock solid groove to every performance. Elvis’ devotion to his craft is tempered by his patience and humility, allowing continued growth and successful working relations.  Although his work ethic is very focused he never loses sight of the important things in life, as any conversation with him will demonstrate.

Canadian-Italian singer/songwriter Adryana has been vastly influenced by the great Divas of the world, from Aretha to Whitney and Mina to Giorgia –and all the great ones in between (Mariah, Celine, Lara Fabian, Christina Aguileira).  At an early age, she taught herself, singing along with these and other great artists’ recordings.  Eventually Adryana aspired to, aimed and attained formal training after years of live performances in Italy, Canada and Australia. Truly and “old soul”, Adryana is fascinated by history, from the classic art of the Old World down to the fascinating music and fashions of the late Sixties and Seventies. After leading a semi-nomadic life between Canada and Italy and winning multiple singing competitions in the two countries, Adryana has realized what she was born to do. As an incredible, versatile vocalist and entertainer (possessing a remarkable eight-octave vocal range) who sings in three languages (English, Italian and Spanish -and eager to add more to her repertoire) she was the perfect choice to front one of Toronto’s premiere bands, the dynamic Souled Out.

Performing some of the greatest Soul/Funk/ R&B/Pop/Rock/Disco tunes of the past century and today is so natural for her; but to be more precise she doesn’t just perform them: She owns them passionately! Adryana is nicknamed affectionately “The Queen of Soul/Queen Of Souled Out” by her Knights -Sir Richard and Sir Arnie “Quick Fingers” and the King, Elvis -the other gifted
members of Souled Out.  Their collaboration will move you, will rock you, will touch your very soul and leave you a little brighter for it… with Souled Out Adryana delivers a kick-ass, dynamic show packaged with great presence, personality and humor, that will literally rock your socks off.

Richard “Fuzz” Francis has been in the Music biz for over 25 years, chalking up a remarkable list of assignments in a multi-genre musical side-career.  He has held down the bottom for various bands in Toronto and abroad, including class-acts like Shiva, Sagittarius, Thrust, High, Livewire, 9th Line and now Souled Out. His influences include Jaco, Victor Wooten, John Entwhistle, Lincoln Goines, Linley Marthe and James Jamerson. With a natural-born appetite for “soul food”, Richard is most comfortable in the old grooves laid down by the Motown greats, the Funk brothers, Aretha and all the other great R&B artists of that era.  Not grounded in any single style, Richard prefers to keep an open mind and listens to an eclectic mix of musicians and artists, from the trailblazing horn of Miles Davis and Chick Corea’s “Return To Forever”, to the present day players like Mike Ster, Joe Zawinul, Dave Matthews Band, Freddy Jones Band and the New Orleans based Dumpster Funk. On the role of the Bassist, Richard affirms there is only one role: To be so much in the background as to allow everyone else to shine, while staying ‘in the pocket’.  He goes on to state that “Knowing when the rest of the band is looking good and sounding good is knowing you’ve done your job right… even if you’re always in the shadows”. His mantra:  “The pocket’s where it’s at!”

Arnold Pereira is an accomplished keyboard player whom has been entertaining audiences from a very early age.  A classically trained pianist from the Trinity College of Music, London (England), Arnold won many accolades in school and college talent competitions, as not only a keyboard player but also a vocalist. He soon expanded his knowledge in classical music to various other genres of music, including but not limited to Soul, R&B, Funk, Dance and even Rock. His influences include Elton John, Ahmad Jamal, Billy Joel, Duke Ellington and Billy Preston. Having performed in numerous venues from the smallest clubs to big outdoor festivals (including radio and television appearances), Arnold brings his experience, professionalism and personality to the highly talented, versatile Souled Out.

Souled Out's p/t guitarist, Lorne Hind

Skilled as a self-taught songwriter and music composer, Lorne Hinds instrumental music leaves listeners speechless. Hes kick-ass, hard edge and soulful. His solos are mind-boggling and fans view him as a phenomenal guitarist. Lornes skills as a professional guitarist elevate him to the level of the masters and he continues to evolve. He is extremely versatile and well disciplined. His foundation is solid playing instrumental, country music, hard rock and R&B. In his spare time, he likes to dabble with jazz music. It is not unusual for him to be compared to the likes of Joe Satriani, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Carlos Santana.

Lorne began his musical career in his hometown of Whitby, Ontario where at the age of 9 he was enrolled in the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music. As a student, he was taught music theory and classical guitar; he then went on to learn about the electric guitar, his first love. At the age of 16, his parents moved the family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While residing in the USA, Lorne concentrated his efforts on teaching himself more about music theory and the structure of songwriting. However, once he graduated from college, Lorne found his way back to Ontario where he currently resides.

He has travelled with cover bands, touring and performing in countries such as Dubai, Europe and parts of the United States (California, Mississippi, Florida, and Las Vegas). He went on to form his own cover band, Fusique, which performed on international cruise-lines. When not cruising with the band, he hired himself out as a studio guitarist/session player for music projects. Recently Lorne has joined forces with Toronto band Souled Out. He brings along with his extensive experience his own unique flavour and spice, complementing the rhythm section and the overall flavour of the band on stage with his strong presence and his talented fingers.
