Emirson Bekirovski
 (Stylist/Artist/Musician)

“If you love what you do,  you will never work a day in your life!”

These famous words come from one of my mentors, the important inspirational ingredient to the early success of my career.  Many people define success as having lots and lots of money.  However, I believe success comes with knowing the very foundation of what we do in our every day lives.  To succeed we must learn to perfect the arts we treasure, and delete any imperfection and habits that grow on us. Training is a way to tackle the little things that make the big differences in the detail of our art forms. In the case of HAIR, learning how to cut hair can be easy but understanding and expressing it with confidence and originality is what comes with practice.

Everyone has their own respected style, and my style is all about enjoying and loving what I do. Bringing out the inner artist in everyone is my goal.  KMS allows me and other artists to express ourselves with a down to earth approach that makes hair an enjoyable aspect of our lives.  I grew up in a salon run by my father and uncle where I gained my first visual experiences of hair care at a very young age. I was an assistant applying colours, cutting client hair, shampooing, working reception-I did it all!

It was a matter of time before I attended hair school.  Exclusively trained in precision cutting, I entered the New Talent competition at the annual ABA show and placed fourth.  I received the valedictorian award, and was best overall student at the graduation.  This inspired me to do more.  One month after finishing school, I began working at Toni & Guy in Toronto, Yorkville.  While working there, I placed as a finalist @ the Mirror Awards in the men’s category.  Two of my pictures placed first at the Toni & Guy Photographic Awards in the student category.  I went from an Assistant to Junior to Designer in the first 13 months of my employment. I attended and completed the Toni & Guy texture course in Dallas. I was later asked to attend a meeting and perform a haircut for the North American Art Team at their monthly gathering, and they were blown away!  This inspired me to do more. I was offered a position to join my father and uncle at dbk Salon in North York.  Overwhelmed by their request, I was excited to go back and work with the family again.  Understanding the importance of education, I developed a training program and implemented classes every Monday nights.  My training with artists everywhere has left a lasting impression to impact years to come.  Guaranteed Results!
